Is there such a thing as safe diet pills for women? The weigh in
on this changes so regularly it is hard to keep up.
Let us take a moment to explore the different types of diet pills
available. There is the appetite suppressing diet pill. This
includes things like Citrimax and Conjugated Linoleic Acid. While
these may be effective in helping some women lose weight, it is also
believed that in others it can cause them to regain the weight. They
also have some serious suggested side effects such as heart valve
damage.
Another type of diet pill is the absorption blockers which
essentially do what they sound like they do. They block the
absorption of carbohydrates or fats by your intestine. Typically
these pills are created using natural products like kidney beans and
soybeans. That having been said it is believed that copper and zinc
is lost from the body when using this pill type. And there is no
evidence that it isn’t also disposing of important vitamins you need
in your body.
And then there are the calorie burning diet pills. These pills
have stimulants in them and increase the metabolism. This makes your
body burn more calories than it would normally. Problems associated
with a high metabolism are much the same as those associated with
thyroid disease. You have an increased heart rate, blood pressure and
high anxiety levels. These things can take a severe toll on a normal
system of organs and the damage can be beyond repair if continued long
term. The contents of these pills is usually things such as guarana,
green tea, caffeine and ephedra, which can be very dangerous.
Knowing what diet pill is safe is not an exact science. There are
too many factors to be sure. Every person has a different body and
the effects of these pills will be different across the board. The
damage done from a dangerous pill can also be dramatically different
from one woman to the next, making it impossible to tell what is
“dangerous” and what is “safe”. Use common sense and weigh the
options. Know what the pill contains and what it does to the body.
Know your body and most importantly, consult with a physician who
knows your body and the effects of these pills. Pay attention to the
cues your body gives you and don’t ignore them.
